New York, New York: The Miss Africa Tri-State Pageant 2014 took place recently in Manhattan, New York, United States.
HIGHLIGHTS AND HOW IT HAPPENED: Picking up from where they left off last year, the organizers of the event decided to host the event in Manhattan New York this time around. This year’s event showcased a significant upgrade from the event of last year. Besides the choice of an upscale and conducive venue, the hosting was also upgraded with the engagement of Nollywood A-list actress Stella Damasus and award-winning Nollywood director, actor, and Attorney, Oliver Oscar Mbamara to co-host the event. The co-hosts did not disappoint as they delivered with a classy touch keeping the audience engaged through the evening. The judges for the pageant comprised of dignitaries and Nollywood personalities (see List of Judges below the pictures). The audience was a mixture of fashion enthusiasts and dignitaries from around world such as Honorary Ambassador for Gender Equality, Human Rights Activists, and African woman of the year Justina Mutale. In addition to the showcasing of talents, fashion, beauty and brain by the contestants, there was also an award session during which some some African personalities and supporters of African culture and fashion were recognized.
Winners: “Miss Africa Tri-State Winner of 2014 – Nasiphi Laila Sobahle ” of South Africa. 1st Runner Up – Sierra Leone’s Aminata Kamara. 2nd Runner Up – Guinea Conakry’s Hajja Diakite. Winner for 2 Unique Categories: Miss Personality – Senegal: Fatou Thiam, along with another amazing prize – an international modeling contract with “Red Ribbon”

Miss Africa Tri-State Pageant Organization is headed by Ms. Olamide Davies Talabi. Other members of the organizing body include – Mr. Chance Le Guru, Mr. Olumide Talabi, Mr. Noble Hiram S. Eimperialb, Ms. Nadu Lawson, Bouba Koyate, the event cordinator.
